The UK in Indonesia – British Embassy Jakarta and OCS Indonesia<\/a> proudly hosted the launch of the UK – Indonesia Green Skills Collaboration Report and the VOCIFY Green Apprenticeship Programme, on February 27 in Jakarta.<\/p>\n

The event brought together representatives from the Indonesian government, vocational and education institutions, to private sector. Laurie Dobson, Deputy Country Director – Trade at the British Embassy Jakarta and Yohanes Jeffry Johary, Managing Director of OCS Indonesia, opened the session.<\/p>\n

Annisa Istighfari, Senior Trade Advisor for Education of the British Embassy Jakarta, shared key takeaways from the UK – Indonesia Green Skills Collaboration Project, gathered during the visit of Jonathan Ledger from the UK DBT. Michael Arlantis, OCS Indonesia’s Talent Branding and Education Outreach, presented VOCIFY Green Apprenticeship Programme, a pilot initiative focused on strengthening technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in Indonesia.<\/p>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

A panel discussion, moderated by Ian Leonard Betts, Managing Partner CastleAsia & Vice Chair BritCham Indonesia, featured insights from OCS Indonesia’s MD and Suren Verma, ABE ‘s Regional Director for Southeast Asia & Pacific, where they explored how international partnerships can bridge skill gaps and improve social mobility. The conversation highlighted OCS Indonesia and ABE’s collaboration on VOCIFY, its role in workforce development, and the expected impact on businesses, workers, and Indonesia\u2019s economy. It also showcased how British vocational standards support upskilling and industry growth.<\/p>\n

The event was a chance to highlight new opportunities for collaboration in green skills development. The launch of our VOCIFY Green Apprenticeship Programme<\/a> marks a strategic effort to integrate globally recognised vocational standards into local workforce development. In partnership with ABE, and supported by the British Embassy Jakarta, this programme aims to ensure Indonesian vocational education meets international standards, creating a skilled and future-ready workforce.<\/p>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

The VOCIFY Green Apprenticeship Programme is built on the belief that not everyone has the privilege to \u201cdo what they love,\u201d but with the right opportunities, they can \u201clove what they do.\u201d By providing access to quality vocational education, we aim to empower individuals whose employment prospects and social mobility have been limited by educational barriers.<\/p>\n

We extend our sincere appreciation to all participants, speakers, and partners who contributed to this event. The discussions were insightful, the engagement was productive, and the connections built here will play an important role in shaping Indonesia\u2019s green skills ecosystem.
