A career is rarely about personal success alone. True growth feels stronger when people progress together. This is how Dika Irawati, known to her colleagues as Rara, approaches her role as a supervisor at one of OCS Indonesia\u2019s education<\/a> customer sites.<\/p>\n

What began as an offering English lessons to her team have evolved into a way of helping colleagues gain confidence, connect with others, and improve their work.<\/p>\n

Teaching with purpose<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Having recently completed her master\u2019s degree in psychology, Rara values continuous learning. For the past year, she has led her team at an international school where English is part of daily communication. Rather than a barrier, Rara saw this as an opportunity to support her colleagues. Her aim was to help them to speak more comfortably with students, teachers, parents, and visitors.<\/p>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

She began with the basic. Her team practiced greetings, polite words such as please and thank you, and simple directions as part of OCS\u2019s service standards. Skills varied across the group. Some could already communicate well, while others were just beginning.<\/p>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

\n \u201cFor me, the important part was not mastery but courage. Once you believe you can do it, learning follows.” <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

Learning together<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Rara went on to organise classes for 37 cleaners, dividing them into smaller groups. She arranged the lessons around their shifting schedules so that service delivery continued without interruption. Each person was encouraged to attend at least one or two sessions a month, so nobody was left behind. It was her way of showing that growth could happen alongside responsibility.<\/p>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

\n \u201cThe progress may look small, but the best part is that it encouraged the team\u2019s own motivation to learn. That matters most to me.\u201d <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

She now hopes to extend the programme to other OCS Indonesia<\/a>\u2019s customer sites. Team members with stronger English are being encouraged to support their peers, and she is preparing a pocket handbook so colleagues can practice whenever they have time.<\/p>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

Recognition for Unity<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Balancing her role with family life, Rara relies on planning and discipline. She sets weekly goals and reviews them regularly to stay on track.<\/p>\n

Her persistence was recognised when she received the OCS Indonesia TRUE Star Award in the Unity category. Even so, she views the award as a bonus rather than the focus.<\/p>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

\n \u201cWith every word learned and every conversation practised, I want my team to see that progress is not about perfection. It is about persistence and growing side by side.\u201d <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

Rara\u2019s story shows how something as straightforward as regular English lesson can bring people together, build confidence, and encourage growth across a team.<\/p>\n <\/section>\n\n\n
