Environmental awareness starts with a foundation, often built in childhood. While books provide essential knowledge, it is daily practice that truly embeds the caring mindset. Green initiatives turn abstract lessons into tangible experience, shaping a more sustainable future from the ground up.<\/p>\n

At an educational<\/a> facility in Central Jakarta, OCS Indonesia maintains a clean and safe learning environment. Our work might appear to be routine cleaning, yet it often extends further. Our teams actively help create greener, more welcoming spaces that align with the school\u2019s sustainability goals.<\/p>\n

Adding value to unused materials<\/strong><\/h4>\n

This proactive approach is embodied by Suhadi, one of our general service officers. Known for his creativity, he finds new purpose in discarded materials. His solutions improve the school\u2019s environment while adding distinct educational and ecological value.<\/p>\n

His journey began with an unused wooden stage frame. Rather than see it become waste, he envisioned a functional fish-pond. Supported by his leader and colleagues, he cleaned the materials, prepared the structure, and built a pond that few had imagined before.<\/p>\n

That pond is now home to over 100 edible fish. The harvest is shared among school staff and teachers, transforming a forgotten resource into a practical benefit for the community.<\/p>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

\n \u201cSupporting food cultivation adds value to the Adiwiyata or the green school programme, whether through plants or animals. That\u2019s why I proposed a tilapia and catfish pond.\u201d <\/p>\n

Through these simple, low-cost actions, he brought an idea to life. His work nurtures understanding, raises awareness of local food cultivation, and supports the school\u2019s green vision.<\/p>\n

After the success of the first pond for the primary and the second one for junior secondary level, Suhadi\u2019s efforts continued to grow. Now, he and his colleagues care for plants daily, from fruit trees to ornamentals, making the environment more inviting.<\/p>\n

The team waters plants regularly and applies fertiliser as needed, keeping them healthy. Teachers actively support these environmental programmes, encouraging participation across the school.<\/p>\n

Students have joined in too. They help care for the plants and decorate pots with creative drawings. From animals to anime characters, each pot reflects their imagination, helping to build a shared sense of environmental responsibility.<\/p>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

At OCS Indonesia, Suhadi\u2019s commitment consistently extends beyond his core duties. His dedication was recently honoured with the OCS Indonesia TRUE Star programme in the Unity category, celebrating his contribution to teamwork and sustainability.<\/p>\n

This recognition marks a meaningful milestone. It motivates his continued growth, which is further supported by ongoing training and learning opportunities within the company.<\/p>\n <\/section>\n\n\n
