Climate change is no longer a distant issue. We are already experiencing its effects today, from rising temperatures and worsening air quality to increasingly frequent natural disasters. Over time, these challenges affect not just the environment, but also people\u2019s wellbeing, productivity at work, and long-term business resilience.<\/p>\n

For the facilities management industry, these issues become increasingly more relevant. Energy consumption, water usage, waste management<\/a>, and workplace safety play a direct role in supporting sustainability and operational resilience. This is why resilience is not built through technology and systems alone. A small and consistent habit can help create workplaces that are healthier, safer, and more resilient for the future.<\/p>\n

This message reflects the spirit of World Environment Day 2026, which calls for greater awareness of climate change and its long-term impact. It also aligns with this year\u2019s OCS ESG Resilience Week theme: small choice, lasting impact<\/em><\/strong>. Lasting change often begins with simple actions carried out consistently together.<\/p>\n

At OCS Indonesia, ESG is not treated as a standalone initiative. It is part of how the company works every day. Building sustainability awareness starts with practical actions that individuals can take at home, in the office, and across customer project sites.<\/p>\n

One of the simplest ways to contribute is by saving energy and reducing emissions<\/strong>. Air conditioning is used according to room requirements, lights are switched off after meetings or working hours, and electronic devices are operated more responsibly. Although these actions may seem small, they help reduce energy consumption and lower operational carbon emissions over time.<\/p>\n

Water conservation<\/strong> is another important focus. As a vital resource for both daily life and business operations, water must be managed responsibly. This starts by avoiding unnecessary water use, fixing leaks quickly, and ensuring wastewater is handled properly.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

OCS Indonesia also continues to encourage better waste management and reduced the use of single-use plastics<\/strong>. Colleagues are encouraged to bring reusable bottles to work, while disposable materials are gradually reduced across operational areas. Waste is managed in line with HSE procedures to support safer handling and more responsible environmental practices.<\/p>\n

Most importantly, caring for the environment<\/strong> can start anywhere. Consistent small actions can help create workplaces that are healthier, safer, and more resilient for the future.<\/p>\n

Measurable actions for real impact<\/h3>\n

Sustainability goes beyond awareness campaigns or long-term commitments. ESG<\/a> initiatives must be practical, measurable, and embedded into day-to-day operations.<\/p>\n

To support this approach, OCS Indonesia has introduced an ESG Ratings system across customer project sites. The programme enables each site to report its ESG initiatives while helping the company monitor sustainability performance more consistently and transparently.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

The assessment covers a wide range of ESG indicators. From an environmental<\/strong> perspective, it evaluates how sustainability practices are implemented on site. From a social<\/strong> perspective, it focuses on employee wellbeing, health and safety, and community engagement. Meanwhile, governance<\/strong> assessments measure transparency and responsible business practices across operations.<\/p>\n

To encourage stronger participation, OCS Indonesia also introduced the Nawasena Award<\/strong> to recognise sites with outstanding ESG implementation. The programme highlights that sustainability is not simply about reporting figures, but about building a workplace culture that is ready to face future challenges.<\/p>\n

ESG as a comprehensive commitment<\/h3>\n

Building resilience also requires a broader ESG commitment that goes beyond environmental initiatives. As part of the facilities management industry, the company continues to strengthen social and governance programmes that support long-term sustainability while delivering value for our people, communities, workplace, and environment.<\/p>\n

At the same time, OCS Indonesia maintains a firm commitment to preventing modern slavery through ethical, transparent, and responsible working practices across its operations and supply chain.<\/p>\n

We continue to reduce carbon emissions through energy efficiency initiatives, responsible waste management, and stronger sustainability awareness throughout daily operations.<\/p>\n
