Despite the distractions of the COVID-19 pandemic, flooding, global uncertainty, and labour constraints, OCS New Zealand has gone from strength to strength, taking steps towards creating a better future for generations to come.<\/p>\n

The initiatives and partnerships we have committed to are shared in our 2022 OCS Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Sustainability Report, released this week.<\/p>\n

OCS ANZ Managing Director, Gareth Marriott, says having a sound sustainability framework is more valuable than ever.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur framework puts our people, customers, and communities at the centre of all that we do. Alongside providing exceptional facilities management services, we aim to make a positive social and environmental impact every day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gareth says one thing that has stood out for him in 2022 is the focus on partnerships.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have really focused on partnering with our customers, industry experts and supply partners to achieve our respective climate action and sustainability goals.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have seen a rise in innovative and collaborative solutions to everyday problems and increased opportunities for our team members to take on new responsibilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re also proud to partner with Toit\u016b Envirocare, Sustainable Business Council and Climate Leaders Coalition \u2013 all leaders in advocating for sustainable outcomes for all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carbon reduction has been under the microscope for OCS in 2022, and we enlisted Toit\u016b Envirocare to help us generate new science-based carbon reduction targets.<\/p>\n

\u201cClimate change presents environmental, social, and economic crises on a whole new level. For nearly two millennia, humans have been carbonising the planet, and we must act to decarbonise.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe weather events of the first part of this year, particularly in the northern parts of Aotearoa New Zealand, show us the devastating impacts on our communities. Setting new science-based targets is a step in the right direction, however it\u2019s a small drop in what\u2019s required globally \u2013 we need to all work together now if we are to effect real change.\u201d<\/p>\n

OCS is also proud to have achieved, for the third year, Toit\u016b net carbonzero certification in line with ISO14064-1, reflecting our commitment to leaving our planet in a better state for future generations.<\/p>\n

With a diverse team of over 4,000 people, made up of 89 cultures, OCS ANZ is making a conscious effort to ensure our operations are environmentally responsible and have a positive impact on the communities we serve.<\/p>\n
