Theepakorn Thanyos joined PCS 25 years ago as a Security Officer at Grand Amarin Tower, now Thanapoom Tower. He went on to become a Team Leader and Security Supervisor before moving into specialist, facilities management and healthcare roles.<\/p>\n

Today, he is an Account Manager in PCS Thailand\u2019s Healthcare<\/a> business, a position he has held for eight years.<\/p>\n

His career has developed steadily, but not because he followed a fixed plan. He kept taking opportunities to learn more about the places, systems and people around him.<\/p>\n

\n

I didn’t limit myself to learning only security operations. I wanted to understand the building as a whole.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While working in security, Theepakorn began learning about the building\u2019s engineering systems. He studied how the chillers, lighting, fire alarms and lifts operated, as well as the procedures used during an emergency.<\/p>\n

He wanted to know what was happening beyond his immediate area of responsibility and how each part of the building affected the safety and wellbeing of the people inside.<\/p>\n

An early mentor gave him a piece of advice that he still follows:<\/p>\n

\n

Know your site as well as you know your own handwriting.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

That level of understanding remains important to Theepakorn. Before a team can deliver the right service, he believes they must understand the customer\u2019s environment thoroughly.<\/p>\n

Moving into new areas<\/h3>\n

Theepakorn later became a Security Specialist, supporting operations across 49 Makro stores in Thailand. His work included quality audits, security training and support for new store openings.<\/p>\n

His move into healthcare introduced him to a very different working environment.<\/p>\n

He had to learn about hospital operations, JCI accreditation, HA standards and the compliance requirements involved in supporting healthcare facilities. He continued his education while building this knowledge through his day-to-day work.<\/p>\n

The transition was not easy. In his first healthcare meetings, much of the terminology was unfamiliar.<\/p>\n

\n

I remember sitting in meetings and not understanding much of what was being discussed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A senior colleague encouraged him to stop worrying about making mistakes and start trying things for himself.<\/p>\n

\n

A laptop isn’t a snake. If you press the wrong button, it won’t bite you. Just give it a try.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The advice stayed with him. It gave him the confidence to ask questions, use unfamiliar technology and learn through experience.<\/p>\n

Theepakorn later became a TFM Manager in Surat Thani. He then returned to manage major healthcare facilities, including the Phumisiri Building at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Medical Center at Ramathibodi Hospital.<\/p>\n

Each role added something different to his experience, from managing frontline operations to understanding the standards and planning required in complex healthcare environments.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

Knowing the work<\/h3>\n

For Theepakorn, leadership starts with knowing the work properly.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cA leader must know the work deeply and have a structured plan. Most importantly, you need to help your team understand what you’re trying to achieve and how you will achieve it together.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He believes colleagues need clear direction, but they also need someone who will listen, treat them fairly and help them develop.<\/p>\n

The support he received earlier in his career has influenced the way he now leads others.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cThe thing I am most proud of is having the chance to develop people, just as others once gave opportunities to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This means sharing what he has learned, giving colleagues the space to take on new responsibilities and supporting them when they face unfamiliar situations.<\/p>\n

Earning the customer\u2019s trust<\/h3>\n

After working across security, engineering and integrated facilities management, Theepakorn has learned that customer trust cannot be taken for granted.<\/p>\n

It comes from understanding the site, preparing carefully and following through on what has been agreed.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cCustomers trust us because we understand their environment, prepare thoroughly, and genuinely care about their success.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In healthcare, that preparation is especially important. Teams must understand the facility, its standards and the effect their work can have on patients, healthcare professionals and visitors.<\/p>\n

Theepakorn\u2019s approach is straightforward: know the environment, anticipate potential issues and make sure the team is ready to respond.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cWhether it’s security, cleaning, engineering, or integrated facilities management, PCS has always maintained high standards and professional service.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Why he stayed<\/h3>\n

When asked why he has remained with PCS for 25 years, Theepakorn\u2019s answer is opportunity.<\/p>\n

\n

PCS is an organisation that gives people opportunities. That’s what has kept me here for 25 years.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Those opportunities allowed him to move beyond security, learn about engineering and facilities management, enter the healthcare sector and eventually lead others.<\/p>\n

The people around him have also been an important part of his time with PCS.<\/p>\n

\n

We work together like family. We may disagree sometimes, but we always come back together because we share the same goal.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

What he has learned in 25 years<\/h3>\n

Theepakorn\u2019s advice to colleagues at the beginning of their careers comes directly from his own experience:<\/p>\n

\n

Persevere, learn, and continuously improve.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He encourages colleagues to be resilient, maintain self-discipline, understand their work and continue learning. He also reminds leaders to take care of their teams and give people a fair opportunity to grow.<\/p>\n

After 25 years, his greatest recognition is reserved for the frontline colleagues whose work customers see every day.<\/p>\n

\n

Our frontline colleagues are the heart of PCS. If PCS were a vehicle, our employees would be the engine that keeps it moving every day. They represent our company, uphold our reputation, and are the reason customers continue to trust us.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
