Executive Summary<\/h2>\n

OCS supported Morrison Construction in delivering a new primary school in Whitecraig, East Lothian, on behalf of East Lothian Council<\/a>. We installed all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, data, and fire protection systems, including a complex air source heat pump system designed by Harley Haddow.<\/p>\n

By proposing an off-site fabrication approach, we overcame logistical, safety, and environmental challenges. The Brief<\/h2>\n

East Lothian Council commissioned a purpose-built primary school in Whitecraig to provide a modern learning environment and meet the area\u2019s growing demand for places.<\/p>\n

A key requirement was the installation of an air-source heat-pump system<\/strong> situated on a remote, purpose-built frame outside the main building. The system demanded extensive welded steel pipework to distribute heating and hot water throughout the school.<\/p>\n

Our approach eliminated hot works and weather risks, improved safety, and allowed Morrison Construction to maintain programme timelines. We preserved the design intent while delivering a high-efficiency solution that aligned with the council\u2019s sustainability goals.<\/p>\n
