Jamil Al-Farahdi, a Mobile Electrical Engineer on the OCS Facilities Management team<\/a>, embodies the company\u2019s TRUE Values<\/a> through his warm and humble approach. With his expertise and dedication, he\u2019s a great example of the exceptional people who make OCS what it is today.<\/p>\n

A Bright Start to an Electric Career<\/h4>\n

Jamil\u2019s journey into electrical engineering<\/a> began with a passion for problem-solving. Starting his career in property maintenance, he quickly discovered his love for the challenges and variety the field offers. \u201cNo two days are the same. Every day is different,\u201d Jamil says with a smile. \u201cI enjoy the challenges this role brings.\u201d Now based in London, Jamil manages various customers, including post offices, councils, and the Land Registry. He drives his OCS vehicle from site to site and is proud to be a dependable and skilled professional. His manager, Joe Wiltshire, has been a great support in enabling Jamil to thrive, making him feel valued and empowered within the team.<\/p>\n

A Growing Family and a Growing Career<\/h4>\n

Jamil is a devoted family man. He balances his professional commitments with his role as a husband and father of two grown children. His 26-year-old son is embarking on a career in IT, while his 22-year-old daughter recently completed her studies in Chemical Engineering. Their achievements reflect the values instilled by Jamil and his wife. His professional journey has mirrored the growth in his personal life. After joining Incentive FM three years ago, he experienced two significant acquisitions. The first was when Atalian Servest acquired Incentive FM and subsequently merged with OCS. Reflecting on this progression, Jamil says, \u201cIt was like moving from a pond to a river and then to an ocean in scale and context.\u201d While OCS’s increased size and complexity could have presented challenges, he appreciates its cultural strengths and the opportunities it offers.<\/p>\n

Looking Ahead: The Future of FM<\/h4>\n

Jamil is passionate about staying ahead in a rapidly evolving industry. \u201cTechnology is changing, and we must keep on top of this,\u201d he says. He emphasises the importance of regular training and development for engineers to adapt to new tools and techniques. Jamil believes that empowerment through learning and communication is key to delivering excellent service.<\/p>\n

Why OCS?<\/h4>\n

For Jamil, OCS stands out for its commitment to people and ability to navigate change without losing its human touch. He joined Incentive FM because of its welcoming and supportive culture, a quality he continues to appreciate in OCS. While transitions to larger organisations can sometimes feel overwhelming, Jamil remains optimistic. \u201cCommunication over time will help improve this,\u201d he notes.
