As part of the UK\u2019s wider digital transformation, in January 2027, the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) will be switched off and all services relying on the analogue network will become inoperable. Among them is trusted security communications provider BT Redcare, which is being closed in August 2025 as part of BT\u2019s move to a digital-first infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Businesses that rely on BT Redcare face substantial risks of disruption to their security monitoring systems. In fact, it is estimated that up to 120,000 customers across the country will be impacted by the closure.<\/p>\n
