This included:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li>Building Management Systems (HVAC, power, lighting)<\/li>\n<li>Fire detection and life safety systems<\/li>\n<li>Access control and CCTV security systems<\/li>\n<li>Integration with communal and external services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The EWMS ensured consistent monitoring and control from a single platform, supporting both security and facilities operations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Alongside this, OCS was contracted to deliver a comprehensive multi-utility infrastructure for the Olympic Village construction phase, including new electricity, gas, water, telecoms, and drainage networks.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Best Productivity<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The integrated approach reduced duplication and gave facilities teams a clear line of sight across the Village:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li>Faster response to system issues through central monitoring<\/li>\n<li>Streamlined coordination between contractors during installation<\/li>\n<li>Reliable infrastructure supporting both construction and games-time operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">During the Games, this ensured all residential and shared facilities operated smoothly. Early on, a significant challenge was identified: inadequate power capacity in the existing grid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">OCS addressed this by designing and installing a 15MW modular gas-fired energy centre, the first of its kind in the UK. This temporary solution powered the entire construction site until EDF completed their off-site reinforcement works. Once the permanent 11kV supply was live, the generators were simply disconnected and removed, avoiding disruption.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The permanent installation featured:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li>8,500 metres of 11kV cabling<\/li>\n<li>16,000 metres of LV cabling<\/li>\n<li>22 packaged substations<\/li>\n<li>Associated civil and builders\u2019 works<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">All works were completed on time, on budget, and with zero reportable or lost-time accidents.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Best Experience<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">For residents and athletes, the systems provided consistent living conditions, dependable security, and reassurance of safety.
