Building a Career through Technical Expertise<\/h3>\n

<\/b>Colin Rushforth has built his career through hands-on technical experience and steady progression across building services and facilities management<\/a>. He began his working life as an electrician before\u00a0transitioning into project delivery roles, where he managed a wide range of\u00a0projects across the Scottish Courts<\/a> and Tribunals Service<\/a> and\u00a0the\u00a0Crown Office<\/a> and Procurator Fiscal Service estate<\/a>. Over more than a decade he developed a detailed understanding of the buildings, the systems and the people who keep them\u00a0operating. This experience shaped the practical and collaborative leadership approach he is known for today.<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Stepping into Leadership during a Period of Change<\/h3>\n

In 2021, he assumed the role of Account Director for the SCTS<\/a> and COPFS<\/a> contract,\u00a0stepping into the position at the height of the\u00a0COVID-19\u00a0pandemic. The transition took place during a period of considerable change, but Colin\u2019s calm and methodical approach helped uphold stability across a national estate and further strengthened the long-standing partnership. His\u00a0expertise, communication style, and ability to foster trust have been vital to the ongoing development of the contract.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

Recognition at the PFM Awards 2025<\/h3>\n

This year Colin\u2019s contribution was recognised at the PFM Awards 2025, where he was named Account Director of the Year. Announced in November 2025, the award reflects his commitment to high standards, clarity and long-term customer partnership. The relationship with SCTS and COPFS has now spanned 14 years and continues to deliver strong results. Service performance has remained consistently high, the contract has seen sustained growth since 2021 and significant investment has been secured for energy<\/a> and sustainability projects, including \u00a316.2 million in government<\/a> funding. Data-led improvements and the adoption of smart building technology have also supported meaningful reductions in carbon emissions across the estate.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

Colin is recognised within the contract for how he supports and develops colleagues. His calm and approachable\u00a0manner builds confidence and fosters a team culture where colleagues feel respected and capable of delivering high-quality\u00a0results.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Commitment That Extends Beyond Operations<\/h3>\n

Colin\u2019s leadership is also reflected in his work within communities. He plays an active role with Scottish Autism and was appointed a Business Ambassador for the charity, supporting awareness, training, and inclusion initiatives. His involvement has strengthened the relationship between OCS and Scottish Autism<\/a> and has helped foster environments where people have greater opportunities to thrive. He has also supported wider social value<\/a> activities across the contract, including work with Women\u2019s Aid<\/a> and partnerships<\/a> that provide pathways into employment for those facing barriers.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/section>\n\n\n
