OCS has delivered one of Scotland’s largest solar carports at The Bridge, Scottish Water’s headquarters in Stepps. The 2,250-panel installation is now operational and will supply more than a third of the site’s power needs.<\/p>\n

Scottish Water Horizons<\/a>, Scottish Water<\/a>‘s commercial subsidiary, led the project, with OCS as delivery partner.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

Parking Space That Now Generates Power<\/h3>\n

The carport turns existing parking space into a renewable energy asset. It generates electricity on site, cutting carbon emissions and energy costs for decades to come.<\/p>\n

The panels are bifacial, so they capture light from both sides and get more generation from the same area.<\/p>\n

OCS announced the \u00a32.4m project in October 2025<\/a>. The installation connects to the site through a new LV switchboard in a purpose-built enclosure, with underground cabling running to inverters across the car park. Construction was phased to keep the office operating throughout.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n
