OCS Indonesia and LEX Indonesia Launch VOCIFY Green Apprenticeship Programme to Build a More Sustainable Workforce

Driving ESG Progress Through Green Skills Development in Logistics

OCS Indonesia and LEX Indonesia, part of Lazada, have taken a significant step towards building a more sustainable and future-ready workforce with the launch of the VOCIFY Green Apprenticeship Programme. This industry-first initiative, designed to equip logistics professionals with practical green skills, officially began on 10 March at the LEX Indonesia warehouse facility in Cimanggis, West Java.

With sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards shaping the global economy, businesses are under increasing pressure to reduce environmental impact while investing in their people. Through this apprenticeship,

OCS Indonesia and LEX Indonesia ensure that frontline workers gain the expertise to navigate a rapidly changing industry while advancing sustainability efforts across logistics operations.

Strengthening ESG Commitments Across Global Markets

As a leading facilities management company, OCS has championed sustainability, skills development, and social mobility in its key markets, including the UK, Ireland, India, Thailand, Australia, and New Zealand.

  • In the UK and Ireland, OCS has been recognised for its sustainability initiatives, which strongly focus on carbon reduction and waste management.
  • In India and Thailand, OCS is actively driving social mobility through upskilling programmes that provide employees with pathways to leadership.
  • The company has been at the forefront of ethical employment initiatives in Australia and New Zealand, ensuring workers are trained in green practices that align with evolving ESG regulations.

Now, with the VOCIFY Green Apprenticeship Programme, OCS Indonesia is reinforcing this commitment by ensuring that frontline logistics workers have the tools and training to drive long-term sustainable impact.

A Transformational Programme for the Logistics Industry

Senior leaders of both organisations participated in the launch event, including Yohanes Jeffry Johary, Managing Director of OCS Indonesia; Ricardo Purba, Chief Operational Officer; and Meindi Firmansyah, Human Resources Director. Aldin Muhammad Qadrian, Head of Workforce Management, represented LEX Indonesia alongside his team.

Speaking at the event, Jeffry Johary emphasised the importance of education and skill development in fostering career progression:

“We want our colleagues to advance to the next level, and education is the key. The VOCIFY Green Apprenticeship Programme is not just about upskilling—it’s about opening new doors. Sustainability is shaping the global job market, and green skills are in high demand. This programme provides a globally recognised certification to enhance employability, validate expertise, and improve productivity.”

LEX Indonesia’s Aldin Muhammad Qadrian encouraged participants to approach the training with determination, referencing the concept of “eating that frog”—taking on challenges head-on to build momentum:

“This programme is unique in how it adds value to our workforce. ‘Eating the frog’ means starting the day by tackling the most difficult tasks first. We encourage our colleagues to embrace this opportunity with discipline and motivation.”

A Certified Pathway to Career Growth

This pilot cohort comprises 19 frontline OCS Indonesia colleagues, all directly involved in delivering operational solutions at LEX Indonesia facilities. The training covers:

  • Hands-on experience in sustainable logistics operations
  • Industry-relevant knowledge aligned with international standards
  • Leadership and technical training to drive career mobility

The curriculum is certified and endorsed by British institutions, including:

  • ABE
  • CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport)

This global recognition ensures that participants gain credentials valued within and beyond the organisation, preparing them for future career growth.

A Long-Term Vision for Sustainable Employment

As Indonesia accelerates its sustainability agenda, initiatives like this apprenticeship are essential in bridging the skills gap and ensuring workers are prepared for a greener future. OCS and LEX Indonesia are committed to:

  • Raising industry standards by embedding sustainability into logistics training
  • Supporting social mobility through structured skills development
  • Aligning with global ESG trends to meet the needs of an evolving workforce

With this VOCIFY Green Apprenticeship Programme, OCS Indonesia is making a tangible impact—not just on today’s workforce but also on the industry’s future.
