This month, Steps’ Head of Inclusive Employment, Pear Chainares and Inclusion Specialist & Developmental Psychologist, Supattra Wattananond joined us at our new training centre to review the physical construction of the inclusive base building design we have been developing together.
The purpose of the construction visit was to ensure the layout and the detail measurements of the rooms and corridors will be accessible for people with a wide range of users. This activity is a small part of the Phase 1 Inclusion Project on Accessibility that Steps is assisting us to create an inclusive workplace at OCS Indonesia.
Prior to the construction, we worked with Steps in the Inclusion Project Team on Accessibility to review the base building and interior designs, and necessary adjustments on the designs were made based on Steps’ strategic recommendations. On site, they reviewed how key design decisions translate into the physical environment and considered the experience of people with disabilities and neurodivergence (PWD/PND).
Working with Steps helps us bring these considerations into the process while the building is still taking shape, making sure they are reflected in the Training Centre as it develops.
We began construction in May 2026, marking another step in our investment in people development, operational capability and the future of OCS Indonesia. When the construction is completed, Steps will do a final walkthrough and conduct an alignment check against agreed accessibility principles to ensure the new Training Centre can become a flagship model for inclusive workforce development and accessible design across future OCS sites in Indonesia.
