Thousands of cloud and data centre professionals including key decision-makers and end-users from leading organisations across the region, gathered yesterday in Jakarta for the Indonesia Cloud & Datacenter Convention – Global 2025. Themed “Shaping the Future for Indonesia 4.0: Data Centers at the Core of Digital Transformation,” the event marked a significant moment for the industry’s continued evolution.
As one of Indonesia’s leading facilities management providers, OCS Indonesia was proud to participate and support this landmark event; where we showcased how our expertise helps data centres operate efficiently and sustainably. Our COO, Ricardo Purba and OCS India’s Managing Director, Manoj J. Parekh, contributed to two engaging panel discussions.
In the panel on “AI-Empowered Data Centers,” Manoj reframed the conversation by introducing the often-overlooked but critical role of facilities management. As AI drives demand for always-on infrastructure, it’s not just about automation. It is about accountable systems where cooling, power, and fault response operate in tandem with human oversight. He urged the industry to move beyond self-optimisation and towards explainable AI-human collaboration, especially for regulated sectors like BFSI that demand trust, auditability, and service transparency.
In the sustainability-focused panel, “Striving for Greener Pastures,” Ricardo made it clear that sustainability is core to future viability. He emphasised that real change begins with the everyday discipline of operations: predictive maintenance that reduces waste, energy systems that adapt to local realities, and procurement that favours long-term ESG impact over short-term savings. True carbon neutrality won’t come from slogans, but from measurable shifts embedded in the operational backbone of every data centre.
Reflecting on the event, our Managing Director, Yohanes Jeffry Johary, emphasised that today’s digital infrastructure must go beyond speed and efficiency.
“Resilience, accountability, and tangible social and environmental impact are equally important.”

He also drew attention to emerging risks around the use of water and energy, and the broader implications on people and places.
“Digital transformation must be people-powered and place-sensitive. It needs to align not just with today’s performance demands but with tomorrow’s sustainability goals.”
As we conclude our participation in this year’s data centre convention, we extend our sincere thanks to the organiser and to our partner Diversey Indonesia, a Solenis company, for their support. Also, thank you to our leadership teams across the region, to our colleagues who represented us at the event, and to everyone who visited our booth for connecting with us and learning more about how OCS is helping shape the future of data centres.
