The Background
Our hard services team contributed to the reinstatement of the prestigious, 5-star Cameron House Hotel on the ‘bonnie banks’ of Loch Lomond.
The Challenge
This Category B-Listed building made headline news when it was devasted by fire in December 2017. Extensive damage was caused to the historic core of the building and several areas needed to be demolished to make it safe for restoration works to commence. OCS’s scope is to reinstate the MEP services, working in partnership with the main contractor, hand in hand with the restoration project.
The Solution
Through mechanical services; Air-Conditioning, Sanitaryware & Plumbing, Ventilation & Ductwork, Thermal Insulation, BMS Controls and electrical services; LV Distribution, Small Power Installation, Cabling & Controls, Lighting & Controls, Fire & Security Systems our teams transformed the hotel.
The fire strategy for the hotel has also been updated to include a sprinkler system, covering the whole hotel, including bedroom and leisure blocks.
Although the main hotel will remain closed to guests until the restoration works are complete, OCS’s site team is still working with the care and sensitivity of a live site as various areas (such as The Cameron Spa, Cameron Lodges and the Clubhouse) remain open to guests.
The Outcome
Given the success of the existing working relationship with the customer team on the current construction project at Cameron House, OCS has been asked to price for fitting out all the building services for a planned new build extension consisting of a ballroom and 70 bedrooms.
