Honouring Service and Dedication: OCS Team Members Awarded King’s Coronation Coin

OCS is proud to celebrate the achievements of several dedicated security team members who have been awarded the prestigious King’s Coronation Coin in recognition of their service alongside Leicestershire Police.

The recipients of this honour are Adrian Simpson, who has a longstanding relationship with Leicestershire Police and 17 years of service at OCS, and his team members Suraj Bhardwaj, Mark Adams, and Ian Copson.

Recognition for Service

The King’s Coronation Coin is awarded to individuals who have served in a frontline or public-facing role for at least five years leading up to the date of King Charles III’s coronation. This coin marks their commitment and dedication to public service.

Adrian Simpson, Site Manager, expressed his pride in receiving the coin:

“This recognition means a great deal to us. When Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Jubilee, Mick Robinson and I were awarded the Jubilee Medal to mark her time on the throne. Now, with King Charles III’s coronation, we are honoured to receive this latest recognition. It highlights not just our years of service and passion, but the strong relationship we’ve built with Leicestershire Police.”

Adrian also noted how OCS colleagues are seen as an integral part of the Leicestershire Police family, rather than external contractors, allowing them to share in these special moments.

Celebrating Heroic Actions

Beyond this incredible honour, Adrian Simpson also attended a ceremony at Athena, Leicester, on March 19th, where he will receive an award for his heroic actions in saving a colleague’s life during a medical emergency.

“While on duty, a colleague suffered a heart attack, and I was able to intervene to provide life-saving assistance. I’m deeply honoured to receive this recognition from the Chief Constable and other dignitaries, including the Lord Lieutenant.”

A Strong Partnership with Leicestershire Police

OCS officially began working with Leicestershire Police in September 2024, following the transition from Profile Security. This partnership continues to strengthen, with OCS providing high-quality security and support services to the force.

Living Our TRUE Values

At OCS, we are incredibly proud of Adrian, Suraj, Mark, Ian, and Mick for their achievements and for acting in line with our TRUE values—Trust, Respect, Unity, and Empowerment. Their dedication demonstrates the outstanding service we provide in keeping communities safe.
