Looking After Your Home, Friends & Family
As Gas Safety Week begins, OCS is proud to join forces with this vital national campaign, organised by Gas Safe Register, in reinforcing our shared mission: protecting lives and places through uncompromising gas safety standards.
What’s the Focus This Year?
This year’s theme, “Looking after your home, friends, and family,” underscores that gas safety is not just a technical matter, it’s a shared responsibility. Whether you’re caring for your own household, tenants, neighbours, or colleagues, everyone must play a role in creating a gas-safe environment.
Running from 8th to 14th September 2025, the campaign focuses on raising awareness of the dangers of poorly maintained appliances, including gas leaks, CO poisoning, fires and explosions, and highlights the importance of annual safety checks by Gas Safe registered engineers.

How We Support Safe Operations
OCS’s work in gas safety is deeply rooted in our dedication to safeguarding people and properties across multiple sectors:
- Comprehensive Safety Checks
Our Gas Safe registered engineers rigorously inspect boilers, cookers, water heaters, and central heating systems in domestic, commercial, and industrial environments. - Proactive, Preventative Maintenance
To avert risks before they arise, we provide scheduled maintenance services that keep gas systems functioning safely and efficiently. - Inspection of Safety Devices
We routinely test CO alarms and gas detectors to ensure they’re operational and reliably protecting those in the environment. - Full Compliance & Certification
All services we deliver fully comply with current safety standards, and we issue the necessary Gas Safety Records and documentation, especially for landlords and customers. - Education & Empowerment
Equipping our customers with knowledge, about warning signs of unsafe gas appliances, CO symptoms, and who to call in an emergency, is integral to our service.
Supporting Our Customers
We are proud to work with organisations who serve communities across the UK, including:
- Brent Council – maintaining safe public buildings for colleagues and residents.
- Croydon Council – delivering essential maintenance across a wide portfolio of community facilities.
- The Church of England – ensuring places of worship and community spaces remain safe and welcoming.
By supporting these customers, we help protect the people and communities who rely on their facilities every day.

Gas Safety and the OCS BEST Pillars
- Experiences – Creating safe, compliant environments where people can live, work and gather with confidence.
- Productivity – Keeping essential facilities fully operational by reducing downtime through planned preventative maintenance.
- Practices – Ensuring every inspection, test and repair meets the highest compliance and safety standards.
- Resilience – Building reliability into essential services through proactive maintenance and responsive support, helping communities stay safe and connected. This commitment is also reflected in OCS Resilience Week, where we showcased the steps we’re taking to protect people, places and communities.
- Outcomes – Delivering peace of mind for our customers, knowing their facilities are compliant, their services are uninterrupted, and their people are safe.
Gas Safety Week & OCS: A Perfect Fit
Our commitment to protecting people and places is ongoing. Gas safety is not a one-off effort but a continuous pursuit, built into the way we work every day. By carrying out rigorous checks, preventative maintenance, and compliance-led inspections, our teams help prevent risks before they arise and give customers peace of mind that their homes, workplaces, and communities are safe.
