TRUE Story: Jamil Al-Farahdi, Energy and Warmth in Abundance

Jamil Al-Farahdi, a Mobile Electrical Engineer on the OCS Facilities Management team, embodies the company’s TRUE Values through his warm and humble approach. With his expertise and dedication, he’s a great example of the exceptional people who make OCS what it is today.

A Bright Start to an Electric Career

Jamil’s journey into electrical engineering began with a passion for problem-solving. Starting his career in property maintenance, he quickly discovered his love for the challenges and variety the field offers. “No two days are the same. Every day is different,” Jamil says with a smile. “I enjoy the challenges this role brings.” Now based in London, Jamil manages various customers, including post offices, councils, and the Land Registry. He drives his OCS vehicle from site to site and is proud to be a dependable and skilled professional. His manager, Joe Wiltshire, has been a great support in enabling Jamil to thrive, making him feel valued and empowered within the team.

A Growing Family and a Growing Career

Jamil is a devoted family man. He balances his professional commitments with his role as a husband and father of two grown children. His 26-year-old son is embarking on a career in IT, while his 22-year-old daughter recently completed her studies in Chemical Engineering. Their achievements reflect the values instilled by Jamil and his wife. His professional journey has mirrored the growth in his personal life. After joining Incentive FM three years ago, he experienced two significant acquisitions. The first was when Atalian Servest acquired Incentive FM and subsequently merged with OCS. Reflecting on this progression, Jamil says, “It was like moving from a pond to a river and then to an ocean in scale and context.” While OCS’s increased size and complexity could have presented challenges, he appreciates its cultural strengths and the opportunities it offers.

Looking Ahead: The Future of FM

Jamil is passionate about staying ahead in a rapidly evolving industry. “Technology is changing, and we must keep on top of this,” he says. He emphasises the importance of regular training and development for engineers to adapt to new tools and techniques. Jamil believes that empowerment through learning and communication is key to delivering excellent service.
