New Zealand business highlights

In 2024, OCS New Zealand recorded a 41% reduction in gross emissions, achieved a 99% drop in landfill waste from our operations, and maintained Toitū net carbonzero certification for the fourth consecutive year. We also continued to support local communities and build sustainability into how we work, from branch-level changes to supply chain engagement.

Environmental

We’re working towards net zero by 2040, focusing on reducing emissions, conserving resources, and embedding sustainable practices. In 2024, we achieved significant reductions in landfill waste and cut vehicle fuel emissions, while continuing to improve energy efficiency across our branches.

    Achieved 31% fuel reduction (from baseline). 15% of fleet is electric or hybrid. Driver training supports safety and efficiency.

  • Focus Area: Electricity Consumption

    Eliminated electricity emissions by using certified renewable energy and installing meters across New Zealand branches.

  • Focus Area: Supply Chain

    Reduced Scope 3 emissions by 84% (from baseline) through consolidating deliveries, refining products, and strengthening supplier partnerships.

  • Focus Area: Business Travel

    Business travel emissions dropped 72% (from baseline), supported by virtual meetings and reduced inter-regional travel.

  • Focus Area: Waste to Landfill

    Achieved 99% (from baseline) landfill reduction through improved data accuracy and better separation of OCS and customer waste.

OCS is committed to creating a safe, inclusive workplace and supporting the communities where we live and work. In 2024, we strengthened our partnerships, built on our cultural capability work, and promoted wellbeing, learning, and safety across our teams.
