OCS Frontline Colleagues
What our colleagues tell us
Through the Great Place To Work™ certification surveys, our frontline colleagues shared consistent feedback about what matters most at work:
✅ Feeling physically safe on site
✅ Being treated fairly, regardless of gender or sexual orientation
✅ Working in teams that support one another, especially during busy or challenging shifts
We’re building on this feedback by strengthening communication and making it easier to understand what support and development look like in practice.
Supporting our frontline colleagues to do their best work
Frontline colleagues often work independently across a wide range of environments. That responsibility is supported through practical training and clear expectations from the start. Role-specific inductions and in-person training focus on safe work practices, site requirements, and consistent service delivery.
Training continues beyond induction. Ongoing learning helps colleagues stay confident as sites, equipment and requirements change. This includes on-the-job coaching, refresher training and access to nationally recognised pathways, including NZQA-aligned qualifications where relevant.
Colleagues who want to progress have access to pathways into supervisory, leadership and specialist roles. These pathways support skill development, increased responsibility and long-term careers, with guidance from leaders who understand the day-to-day demands of the work.
Our colleagues driving our brand and business forwards
Our frontline colleagues are the cornerstone of OCS’s operations, supporting commercial cleaning, facilities management and related services through their attention to detail and consistency in their work.
Day in and day out, they’re the people our customers rely on to keep workplaces, sites and facilities running smoothly. Their work supports safe, well-run environments that people can depend on.
Their day-to-day work helps our customers operate reliably, even in busy or complex environments. Our people aren’t just a part of our process; they are at the heart of everything we achieve, driving us forward with their dedication and hard work.
Dedication and experience to make people and places the best they can be
Across Aotearoa, our teams include people starting their careers and long-serving colleagues with years of experience. This mix of new ideas and proven knowledge is vital to how we operate. Our new colleagues bring fresh perspectives, while our experienced colleagues have a deep understanding of customer service developed over many years.
With a history stretching back to 1900, we have a strong foundation, but we’re also always looking for new ways to innovate and improve. This combination of old and new makes our service to customers exceptional, ensuring we constantly enhance our quality.
