We’re looking for the best people to join our team

Our mission is to make people and places the best they can be – delivering the best experiences, best practices, best productivity, resilience and outcomes for colleagues, customers and communities.

We’re searching for the best people to join our team to give ourselves the best opportunity to achieve our vision and mission. We’re looking for people whose values reflect Trust, Respect, Empowerment and Unity (our TRUE values), and who want to be part of teams that support others to do their work well.

Great Place To Work™ certified

OCS New Zealand is certified as a Great Place To Work™, based on confidential colleague feedback. The results highlight a physically safe workplace, fair treatment regardless of gender or sexual orientation, and teams that look out for one another.

That feedback is used to strengthen communication, involve colleagues more clearly in decisions that affect their work, and make development pathways easier to understand. If you’re looking for a workplace that listens, responds to feedback, and keeps improving how it supports people, you’ll find that at OCS.

Opportunities across Aotearoa

OCS employs people right across Aotearoa, from Kaitaia to Rakiura Stewart Island, supported by a strong branch network working in local communities. This means opportunities close to home, backed by a national organisation.

We also invest in future skills. Through our 1M business, we offer an electrical apprenticeship scheme that provides structured training, hands-on experience, and support from experienced tradespeople. Whether you’re starting out or building on existing skills, there are pathways to grow with OCS.

Leadership Qualifications

Learning, training and development at OCS

At OCS New Zealand, learning supports safe, confident work and ongoing development. From day one, colleagues complete role-specific inductions and in-person training aligned with New Zealand compliance requirements and the standards expected across our sites. Training needs are reviewed regularly to ensure skills remain current as roles, technology and regulations change.

We support nationally recognised learning pathways, including NZQA-aligned qualifications, apprenticeships and trade training where relevant. For supervisors and leaders, structured development programmes build capability and support clear progression into leadership roles.

Learning is delivered through a mix of in-person training, on-the-job coaching and digital modules through OCS Academy, our internal platform. This approach provides consistent training across Aotearoa, with local support from experienced leaders and trainers.

Whether starting out or building on existing experience, colleagues have access to pathways that support skill development, recognised qualifications and career progression.
