ESG Report 2024: People, Progress, and Practical Action

We are excited to release our 2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report — the seventh for the ANZ region — highlighting steady progress towards net zero and meaningful gains across social and governance initiatives.

In 2024, OCS New Zealand achieved a 41% reduction in gross emissions since 2017, maintained Toitū Net Carbon Zero certification for the eighth consecutive year, and recorded a 99% drop in landfill waste from its own operations.

Fuel efficiency also improved significantly, with vehicle emissions down 31% and business travel emissions dropping 72% from baseline. These environmental gains were supported by renewable energy procurement, fleet upgrades, and more efficient logistics.

Social outcomes remained a strong focus, with 58 jobseekers placed through Workbridge (a national organisation connecting disabled people with employment), and increased access to learning and recognition initiatives across the workforce.

“We’re proud of the progress made this year, particularly in the way our teams have embraced sustainability at every level — from branch operations to supply chain engagement,” says Gareth Marriott, Managing Director of OCS Australia & New Zealand.

The 2024 report also outlines ongoing work in governance, including ISO compliance, updated anti-bribery training, and strengthened supplier due diligence frameworks aligned with the OCS Group ESG Policy.
