Keeping OCS Data – and History – in Order

Over 26 years at OCS, Lina Daniel has watched the business transform – from paper files and local ledgers to global systems that power decisions across 125 years of facilities management.

“I started in accounts receivable back in 1999,” Lina says. “Since then, my roles and the company itself have evolved many times.”

From ledgers to SAP

Lina began her career in accounts receivable before moving into management, then into the newly created master data team when OCS transitioned to SAP. Her team ensures every customer, vendor and material record is set up correctly so the systems behind the scenes run smoothly.

“When we moved to SAP, I thought, someone has to get this right,” she recalls. “You know the saying: rubbish in, rubbish out. That’s exactly what I wanted to avoid.”

Her work touches every part of the business. Every accurate record means invoices go out on time, reports are reliable, and frontline teams can focus on their jobs rather than chasing errors.

“These days, reporting is a lot more advanced. Dashboards, analytics – all of that relies on the data being set up properly. We’ve had to adapt as the business has adapted.”

Part of a company‑wide evolution

Lina has lived through several restructures, process changes and new technologies – changes that have helped OCS shift from individual branches each doing things their own way to a unified, global company.

“Back in the day, everyone did their own thing. Now we’ve got standard operating procedures, shared systems and one ledger across the company,” she says. “It’s made a huge difference.”

It’s a story that mirrors OCS’s broader evolution over 125 years – a move from local beginnings to a worldwide business built on shared standards and strong values.

People make the difference

While Lina’s work is all about data, she says her fondest memories aren’t about systems – they’re about people.

“I’ve met some amazing colleagues over the years. Conferences and team events have been great because you finally put faces to the names you’ve been emailing or calling. You see a different side of people – sometimes very competitive!”

Those connections and the constant learning are what have kept her engaged for so long.

“People think you’ve just done the same job all these years, but it’s evolved so much. New systems, new processes… it keeps it fresh, and I still enjoy it.”

Recognising 26 years of contribution

Lina’s consistency and adaptability are part of what makes OCS’s 125‑year story possible. Her work ensures the details behind the scenes are right, so frontline teams can deliver for customers with confidence.

“Why fix something that isn’t broken?” Lina says. “I enjoy the work and the people. It’s a good place to be.”

And with new projects and systems on the horizon, Lina knows the work will keep evolving – and she’s ready to be part of whatever comes next.
