On the night, our team members took out awards for the following: Education – Early Learning/Primary/Secondary: Buller High School, and Retail/Hospitality/Leisure under 15,000m2: Queenstown Events Centre.
Contract manager, Hannah Bill and the OCS team at Buller High School were recognised for the full range of cleaning services they provide to the School and, in particular, the amazing support they provided after the devastating floods in 2021, despite also dealing with their own personal situations caused by the floods.
As part of the feedback from the school’s CleanSweepTM Awards entry, judge Wendy Stephens, stated that she was very impressed with the site during their visit.
“You could eat your dinner off the floors. It was spotless on the day of the visit and by all accounts, this high level of service is the norm. The windows sparkled.
I have rarely seen floors of this high a standard in any building especially one that has challenges like this. The windows were spotless and full credit goes to the site manager and her passion for the role,” said Wendy.
Contract manager, Karine Bond and the OCS Queenstown team were recognised for the work they carry out at the Queenstown Events Centre, which includes the full range of services, including the flexibility to provide services at any time as required around ad hoc events.
“OCS have strong frameworks in place to ensure a great service is delivered with its corporate systems and protocols,” said Wendy.
“The cleaning standards and the methods I observed on the day of my evaluation were of an extremely high level. Karine and her team do a great job, and do so with a smile.”
OCS’ Managing Director ANZ, Gareth Marriott says he is proud to see the hard work his teams put in every day highlighted at a national level.
“This is a great acknowledgement of the huge effort our team puts in to delivering a high level of cleaning for all our customers, particularly under such challenging circumstances.
“Our frontline team members have worked, and continue to work, tirelessly under the constant shadow of COVID-19. They have had to show up every day in often high-risk situations – and they continue to deliver the best service to our customers. It makes me particularly proud to see them recognised and celebrated at this level – and against some tough competition,” says Mr Marriott.
OCS is one of the largest facilities management services companies in New Zealand, with over 3,500 team members providing nationwide services from Kaitaia to Invercargill. They provide cleaning, hygiene, waste management, pest control, and maintenance and building services for large customers in the government, corporate, healthcare, education, retail, and aviation sectors.
