Aeta Mag Antsi Tribe Members Join OCS: Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace

We are thrilled to announce the addition of a remarkable group of newly recruited housekeeping personnel from the Aeta Mag Antsi Tribe to our team. Residing in Kalangitan, Tarlac City, Philippines, the Aeta Mag Antsi, also known as Mag-Anchi, are an indigenous group with a rich cultural heritage and a population of over 100 individuals. They speak the Antsi language, which is part of the Sambalic language family.

A Testament to Learning and Belief

This significant achievement by these 11 individuals is a testament to the power of learning and the belief that nothing is impossible to achieve. Their journey from their community to joining our team is not just a personal triumph but a beacon of hope and inspiration for their people and other indigenous tribes across the Philippines.

On July 26 and 27, 2024, a team of 38 enthusiastic volunteers came together for a two-day Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project. The mission? To transform the learning environment at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, College of Human Ecology.

The Project

The focus of this initiative was the refurbishment of two rooms within the college. Here are the key aspects of the project:

  1. Interior Repainting: The volunteers meticulously repainted the interiors of the designated rooms. Fresh coats of paint not only brightened up the space but also contributed to a more pleasant and conducive atmosphere for learning.
  2. Electrical Wiring Overhaul: Recognizing the importance of safety and functionality, the team worked on overhauling the electrical wiring. This involved ensuring proper connections, addressing any issues, and enhancing the overall infrastructure.

This CSR initiative extends beyond the physical changes made to the rooms.
