Together, they conducted a visit to convene with Garret Pestano, Head of Workplace Services and Procurement, and Nina Veronica Perez, Procurement Manager at Lazada Philippines. The Pest Control team at OCS Philippines has initiated services at Lazada Philippines’ head office, marking the commencement of pest control provision across Lazada sites.

Recognising the pivotal role of a pest-free workplace in fostering employee focus, OCS Philippines is fully committed to ensuring that the Lazada team experiences peace of mind through clean and safe workspaces. On 29th February 2024, OCS Philippines celebrated a significant milestone with the inauguration of its OCS TRUE STAR Awards ceremony. Among the distinguished recipients was Mr. Edward Junio, a dedicated member of the cleaning personnel deployed in the retail sector. Mr. Junio received the Trust category award, a well-deserved recognition supported by accolades from his colleagues, account manager, and the client.

Mr. Junio’s outstanding contribution to the client’s satisfaction was exemplified when he returned a lost bag to one of the customers, containing 100,000 pesos, phones, and other valuables. Notably, he refused any reward, emphasizing his belief in acts of kindness without expecting anything in return.

Along with that act of goodness is the recognition of his exemplary dedication to work. The account manager, responsible for overseeing the account, sought to test Mr. Junio’s dedication and efficiency. Initially sceptical about his commendable performance in a less crowded area, the account manager decided to transfer him to busier locations, such as food courts, restrooms, and lifts. To the manager’s surprise, Mr. Junio consistently excelled, showcasing that quality service can be maintained irrespective of the area’s foot traffic. His unwavering commitment set an example, proving that dedication to the job can transcend the challenges posed by densely populated areas.

The client expressed satisfaction with the overall contribution of our deployed team to enhancing the shopping experience for their customers. Thanks to the hard work of our team, previously neglected areas, such as dirty restrooms and corridors, are now a thing of the past.

As the account manager responsible for managing our team, I couldn’t be prouder of Edward’s dedication to work and the goodness of his heart, as well as how he lives by his values and principles. I feel like a mother in tears because of overflowing joy.

OCS achieved a score of excellence in the SIA audit.

OCS has recently undergone its annual Security Industry Authority (SIA) audit and achieved the maximum score in six out of the seven criteria and were awarded a score of 142 out of 145.

This is the 18th year that our business has committed to the Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS), a point worthy of note by the auditor from the National Security Inspectorate (NSI). The brand, reputation and continued delivery of the OCS gold standard was also noted.

“The continued investment in people through training, the use of a software programme to streamline HR, payroll and talent management processes and the continued promotion of mental health training all show clear progress.”

Officers at one of the largest contracts had a full understanding of the requirements of the customer and the expectation on them to achieve this. There was good understanding of the company values and copies of relevant documentation were available at the point of delivery.

A number of officers made the following comments: “The team work is amazing”, “We have good support from the supervisors and regular visits from management”, “ OCS look after their staff and we feel very well looked after”, “HALO has improved our communication with the customer”.

A new member of staff expressed that “I am in my element here with OCS”.

“The result owes much to the security teams, back of house support and the officers on site who all display the commitment to our security gold standard.  Thank you to our security teams across our portfolio and a huge well done to all those who participated in the audit. These teams are responsible for keeping our sites, our customers and the general public safe on a regular basis. Their commitment has ensured the company has achieved a very creditable score.”
