Apprenticeships at OCS

Our apprenticeship programme, acclaimed by the Department for Education, emphasises a qualitative approach to ensure participants remain engaged from enrolment to successful completion – it includes robust pre-enrolment activities and supportive management processes, which maximise the realisation of levy funding.

We have created 12 targeted development pathways, offering a spectrum of learning opportunities from entry to degree level.
Our Centre of Excellence provides consistent, specialised advice and guidance, ensuring adherence to funding rules and managing due diligence processes effectively.
Data collection and tracking are central to our reporting requirements. Centralising all apprenticeship activity ensures accurate and reliable data is distributed across different divisions and businesses.
On-programme management is crucial, with monthly progress reports being a critical factor in our high retention rates. Engaging actively with operational teams is essential for completing the programme.

Funded learning for opportunity at OCS

Funded learning enables our colleagues to develop new skills and knowledge to progress their careers. This is incredibly important – after all, we want to create environments in which people can realise their best.

Our funded learning opportunities span right across the business, including management and leadership, and future leadership qualifications, as well as maths and English functional skills, which ensure we’re supporting continual learning from apprentice to director level.

Funded learning and development is an essential part of our approach at OCS. We aim to change the ‘accidental manager’ scenario – where someone’s promoted into a managerial role because they’re excellent in their current position, regardless of their lack of managerial training, instead, planning a structured approach for promotion and career development that supports the growth plans and strategy of the business.
