OCS Healthcare Catering Team Shortlisted for 2025 Foodservice Cateys

We’re delighted to share that our healthcare catering team has been shortlisted for Healthcare Caterer of the Year at the 2025 Foodservice Cateys, hosted by The Caterer. This prestigious award recognises excellence across the UK’s contract catering sector. It celebrates teams that deliver outstanding service, innovation and impact in healthcare environments.

The nomination highlights our work at West London NHS Trust. OCS colleagues deliver catering services that go far beyond the plate. We support patient recovery, promote well-being and enhance the overall care experience.

A Catering Service Designed for Recovery and Well-being

We have built our healthcare catering offer around the belief that food plays a vital role in healing. Delivered through our in-house brand, Angel Hill, our teams provide nutritious, comforting meals that meet a wide range of dietary needs, from texture-modified diets to culturally appropriate options.

We work closely with clinical teams to ensure every meal supports the physical and mental health of patients. We train our colleagues to understand the therapeutic value of food. They take pride in delivering meals that are not only nourishing but also dignified and enjoyable.

A Meaningful Partnership with West London NHS Trust

Our partnership with West London NHS Trust spans multiple sites across Ealing, Hammersmith and Hounslow, where the Trust delivers vital mental and physical health services to local communities.

As the Trust’s chosen catering provider, we’ve introduced a fresh, farm-to-fork approach that aligns with their mission of building “hope and well-being together.” One of the most impactful initiatives to emerge from this partnership is the Grow Gardens project, an innovative programme that brings community gardens to hospital sites.

Working closely with Trust stakeholders, we identified accessible spaces to install gardens that now yield fresh herbs and vegetables. We use these ingredients in patient meals, improving nutritional quality while supporting the Trust’s sustainability goals.

The gardens also serve as therapeutic spaces. Patients regularly visit and help maintain them, supported by staff and volunteers. This hands-on involvement encourages social connection, occupational therapy and a sense of purpose, key elements in mental health recovery.

Recognition of a Team That Cares

Being shortlisted for a Foodservice Catey is a significant honour. Judged by senior professionals from across the hospitality sector, the awards celebrate the very best in contract catering.

This nomination is a reflection of the passion, professionalism and care our colleagues bring to their work every day. From menu development to meal delivery, from garden planting to patient engagement—our teams go above and beyond to make a positive difference.

We’re incredibly proud of this recognition, and even prouder of the people behind it.
