OCS Proudly Sponsors Successful Colour Run, Helping to Raise £22,000 for Hospital Charity

Hundreds of enthusiastic fundraisers gathered at Christchurch Park on Saturday the 21st of September, for the Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity’s Colour Run, proudly sponsored by OCS.

Under the bright Ipswich sun, around 400 participants completed either 1km or 5km routes while being showered in vibrant coloured powder paint. The event has successfully raised over £22,000 for the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT).

Among the runners was 44-year-old Emma Everett and her 17-year-old daughter Kacie, who participated in recognition of the exceptional care Emma received from Ipswich Hospital’s Ear, Nose and Throat Department following a thyroid diagnosis in July 2023. Their fundraising efforts have already surpassed £700, contributing to the care of patients and staff at ESNEFT and providing additional resources beyond what the NHS can offer.

Emma expressed her gratitude, saying: “I really wanted to do the Colour Run because the staff were amazing. Everyone I came into contact with was just brilliant. My consultant Dr Billy Wong was amazing – he took very good care of me and was extremely attentive.”

Daniel Dickson, OCS CEO for UK & Ireland, shared his enthusiasm: “We’ve thoroughly enjoyed this fantastic event and are proud as a local business to sponsor the charity and have many of our team members participating and volunteering. We’re already looking forward to next year.”

Nichola Whymark, head of charity fundraising and marketing, also expressed her appreciation: “We would like to extend our thanks to everyone that supported us, including the participants, suppliers, our sponsor OCS, and volunteers who made this event possible. Their support and commitment have been truly inspiring. Together, they have made a significant difference to the lives of patients, and we are incredibly grateful for their generosity.”
