OCS renews facilities management contract for the Elizabeth line with GTS Rail Operations

OCS has renewed its contract to deliver facilities management services across the Elizabeth line, following the award of a new concession to GTS Rail Operations (GTS), a joint venture between the Go-Ahead Group, Tokyo Metro, and Sumitomo.

The new contract runs for an initial three-year term, with the option for a further two-year extension. OCS will continue to provide essential facilities management services across 28 Elizabeth line stations covering the West, East and Central sections.

Having maintained a continuous presence on the Elizabeth line since 2017, OCS has supported its journey from construction through to the whole operation, playing a key role in maintaining the quality, safety, and reliability of one of the UK’s most important transport networks.

Supporting a High-Performing Railway

Under the renewed contract, OCS will deliver a comprehensive range of services including mechanical and electrical maintenance, fabric maintenance and station cleaning.

The Elizabeth line now carries up to 800,000 passenger journeys every day, making it the busiest railway service in the UK. OCS’s longstanding operational experience and understanding of the network were key factors in the decision to extend the partnership.

Driving Innovation and Sustainability

In collaboration with GTS and Transport for London (TfL), OCS is implementing initiatives to support sustainability and carbon reduction goals. This includes deploying technology-led solutions, enhancing energy efficiency and developing data-driven asset management systems designed to improve performance across the contract.

Creating Opportunities Through Social Value

As part of the renewed agreement, OCS will onboard two new apprentices each year across hard services, soft services and office-based functions, supporting career development and the next generation of FM professionals.

Additional community engagement and social value programmes, aligned with TfL’s broader objectives, will be introduced as part of the delivery phase.

“We are pleased to continue our partnership with GTS to deliver both hard and soft facilities management services across the Elizabeth line. Our teams have worked on the network since 2017, providing essential maintenance and cleaning that keep stations safe, efficient and welcoming for passengers. This renewal reflects our shared commitment to high-quality service, innovation and sustainability across one of the UK’s most important transport networks.”

Mark Lloyd

Regional Director, OCS UK & Ireland

“The Elizabeth line carries hundreds of thousands of passengers every day and is a vital part of London’s transport network. Maintaining such a large and busy estate requires a partner with proven experience and a clear commitment to safety, reliability and sustainability. OCS has supported the line since its early operations, and we look forward to continuing our partnership as we deliver this next phase together.”
