OCS TRUE Values

Our values are Trust, Respect, Unity and Empowerment – they’re TRUE. Guided by these values and principles, we’re on a mission to make people and places the best they can be.

Our guiding principles

Having easily understandable and universally applicable values is crucial because they are a foundational guide for decision-making – providing a clear framework for all colleagues, ensuring consistency and alignment with the company’s goals across diverse teams and geographies.

Our TRUE Values are a vital navigational tool for OCS, steering our actions and strategies as we work towards our vision and mission. They help create a unified culture, fostering a sense of purpose and direction among colleagues and ensuring that every decision aligns with our core principles.

Inspired by our TRUE Values, we’ve developed a set of commitments we all sign up for when joining OCS. Alongside those values, this alignment is essential for maintaining our brand’s integrity and achieving our long-term objectives.

Our Partnership with First Foundation

At OCS, our TRUE Values don’t just sit on a poster – they show up in the way we support people and communities. One of the clearest examples is our long‑standing partnership with, helping open doors to tertiary study for rangatahi (young people) connected to our OCS whānau (families).

Each year, we offer a four‑year scholarship to a student with drive, talent, and big aspirations. The programme combines mentoring, financial support, and paid work experience – giving learners real skills, real confidence, and a real pathway into further education.

By backing these young people and their whānau, we’re investing in the future of the communities where our colleagues live and work. It’s a commitment that reflects who we are: united, respectful, and focused on long‑term impact – for our people today, and for the next generation coming through.

“Our TRUE values – Trust, Respect, Unity, and Empowerment – guide how we decide, how we show up, and how we care for one another. When people feel safe to be themselves, confident in their teams, and inspired to contribute, great experiences follow. By living these values every day, we build a culture where our people thrive, our customers feel genuinely supported, and we achieve outcomes we can all be proud of – together.”

Community Alignment

Being part of the communities where our colleagues live, work, and play is at the heart of who we are. Across Aotearoa New Zealand, our teams get behind local initiatives that strengthen wellbeing, uplift whānau, and support people through life’s everyday challenges. From fundraising and volunteering to cultural celebrations and hands‑on help during tough times, our TRUE Values guide every action.

What makes this work powerful is that much of it is driven by our people. Colleagues respond to what matters most in their regions, building relationships that last and offering support in ways that are practical, meaningful, and easy to access. By staying connected to local priorities and showing up when it counts, we help create healthier, more resilient communities — and reinforce our role as a trusted, values‑driven partner.
