The efforts of those recognised as TRUE Stars not only set a benchmark for excellence, but also inspire others to be their best, driving our organisation forwards as we strive to become the best facilities services company in the world, making people and places the best they can be for our colleagues, our customers and communities.

Alison Witherford
- Trust
Alison was called in after a customer’s customer had dropped their wallet and couldn’t reach it, the customer was really upset as they knew exactly where it was but there wasn’t anything they can do. Alison’s quick thinking of the long litter picker we have on site she left and returned with it to rescue the customers wallet! The customer was extremely happy with Alison’s help!
Phillip Bermingham

Always reliable out of hours monitoring issues, including leaks, across the estate. Updates are thorough and assist with operations the next day.
Gloria Garcia

Gloria took over the responsibility to operate the heavy cleaning machinery and looks well after the equipment. She is very risk aware and had no accidents while working on the machines. She has a very positive attitude towards work and is very respectful towards colleagues. She also takes part in most team activities and during the last MacMillan event she organized a vintage fashion show with colleagues which was a success. Her actions encourage team building and she does it with a sincere smile and goodwill.
Johanna Tandazo
Johanna works as a part time cleaning operative but she took ownership in organising the teams birthdays of the month events where hard and soft services teams get together for 30 minutes to celebrate. This events takes place once a month and every month. She coordinates with colleagues to see who will be baking, cooking and bring in food/drinks. These events have brought both OCS teams together and it clearly improved the way teams communicate and solve issues. She has a very strong can do attitude and represents really well the OCS values.
Daniel Kittridge
During a period of managers annual leave throughout the region, Daniel was an absolute star in supporting myself across the estate. Supporting with quote submissions and keeping the customer informed. Daniel also went out his way to support with the asset capture across the mobile engineers. An outstanding effort and very much appreciated.
Barbara Williams

Barbara always goes above and beyond to help her team and customers, she shows exceptional work ethic and values and will always go the extra mile to ensure every customer leaves with a smile.
Sharon Fernie

After attending a client interaction meeting on-site with the customer, it was repeatedly brought up the excellent performance the Helpdesk have specifically delivered, and multiple improvements noted across the contract’s performance in the last six months. It was the contracts 2-year birthday and a huge milestone to create some stability and trust in what we are delivering. This is absolutely a collective team involvement, inclusive of the on-site teams and the great working relationship but additionally Sharon was specifically mentioned. She goes over and above to meet customer requests, she has been covering across many roles on the contract within the Helpdesk but still managing to deliver her team leader duties. She has gone over and above to cover gaps in the team and ensuring the service delivery isn’t affected, she has absolutely thrived under the pressure and certainly deserves the recognition.
Chris Goldsworthy
Happy to go the extra mile and a shift leader. Due to illness, we were short staffed when we had a full house with four graduations, but managed to address lots of blockage and leak issues after a heavy rain downpour. Chris was firm and precise when delegating tasks to colleagues and supporting them where required.

Customer feedback from GWR: Another generally brilliant period results wise, with a second consecutive max target met and three areas recording best-ever scores. Fantastic work everybody, and thanks to all of your teams and suppliers for supporting this continued improvement. A special shout out and thank you to the Cleaning management team and OCS: Cleanliness & Graffiti recorded an incredible 87%, 6% above the previous best ever score (which was in P6) and despite having the lowest benchmark of the four areas, it was the highest scoring.

Public FM – JobChat Team
- Empowerment
Wendy Gregg, Andy Petrie, Ian McKerracher and Charlotte Oatley all worked extra hard to create the frontline colleague JobChat process, form and managers’ guide for all managers to use across Public FM. This was the first priority of the Action Group that came together following the Colleague Engagement Survey in 2024. These four colleagues delivered JobChat alongside their main jobs and were focused on delivering the best possible solution to the business. They worked together using their own initiative and didn’t need a material steer from me. The roles were: Charlotte – created the form using her knowledge of the SmartSurvey tool and adapted it many times throughout the process to ensure it was fit for purpose Andy – created the process and the managers’ guide, whilst testing the form and its functionality. Andy also presented the form and process to the SLT to gain senior support prior to rolling it out in our business unit. Andy has also attended several SMT meetings to showcase it and explain its functionality. Wendy – supported with all the above and in producing communications to go to the wider business unit and co-ordinating activities to ensure the objective was delivered on time (which it was) Ian – provided the PowerBI support creating the dashboard and working with dummy data to test the reporting mechanism. This remains ongoing today. All of them have gone out of their way to make this successful, with the best interests of the managers and frontline colleagues in our business unit at heart. They were creative in the design and its functionality, they weren’t afraid to challenge themselves and each other, and worked together beautifully as a team. I’m delighted with the outcome and loved seeing their enthusiasm in creating something they can and should be proud of. It is possible the JobChat will be rolled out across the wider business but has as a minimum set the standard for the rest of the business to aspire to.

Luke is absolutely fantastic he always goes above and beyond in store, when I attend to do the audits the manager also has nothing but high praise for him. Luke always covers holidays even when let him know I can get cover. He always says he can manage on his own. Always keeps me updated with any issues in store, cleaning cupboard is always neat and tidy following COSHH.

Karolina has been a key individual supporting the transition of the awarded contract expansion and really stepped up. Supporting new team members that tuped over to OCS, setting our TRUE Values and how we work at OCS. Hard work, nothing is too much trouble and always has a smile on her face.

Steve is a truly extraordinary individual – he has been loyal to OCS for over 10 years and goes above on everything he is tasked to do and more.

Although new to the team, Arianne has quickly earned the respect of their peers through professionalism, strong work ethic, and dedication to delivering high-quality results. Their commitment to excellence sets a great example for the entire team.
Kate Saul

Customer feedback: I wanted to take a moment to highlight the exceptional actions of Kate Saul from the Security team during a recent health and safety incident. Her immediate and proactive reporting of an incident enabled the business to respond swiftly, isolating the affected drain and preventing a potential environmental breach that could have impacted our lake. Kate could have easily turned a blind eye and ignored what she saw, but instead she chose to act responsibly and decisively. Her vigilance helped us avoid what could have been a serious environmental issue, including the risk of contamination, costly clean-up operations, and potential fines. Her actions directly contributed to protecting both our site and our environmental responsibilities, and serve as a strong example of the positive impact individual awareness and accountability can have on the wider business. I will be nominating her for an award but wanted you to know her actions have not gone unnoticed.
Leon Hamilton

Leon is one of our Backstage Team leaders at Utilita Arena Birmingham whoalways goes above and beyond to provide a world class service to visiting production companies. On a recent Katy Perry concert he was personally recognised in a thank you email from the tour security company.
