Social (ESG)

With our global team of 135,000 colleagues, and almost 600 here in Australia, OCS plays an active role in the communities where we deliver services. Our work in commercial cleaning, facilities management and waste management services connects us directly to the environments we support every day.

Recruit from the widest possible talent pool and create opportunities

We recruit from a broad talent pool and create pathways into work for people who may face barriers to employment. Our recruitment processes are designed to be inclusive, and we work alongside local programmes, NGOs and government initiatives that support people into roles across commercial cleaning, facilities management and support services.

In Western Australia, this includes a partnership with the Waalitj Foundation, an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people into education, training and employment. Through this partnership, OCS has welcomed new colleagues into our teams, supported by practical, on-the-ground assistance that helps people transition into work with confidence.

This approach supports more people into sustainable employment and strengthens the communities where our services are delivered.

Providing access to valuable and sustainable careers

Across our services, including commercial cleaning, pest control, hard services, facilities management, and business functional roles such as finance, HR, operations, business development, IT and health & safety, we offer opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

We provide sustainable career paths, training, and development. All colleagues have access to the correct information and proper training and development. Our online training capability (OCS Academy) is available to colleagues who join OCS.

Fostering diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I)

Diversity and inclusion are part of how our teams work every day. We aim to provide fair access to opportunities regardless of background, and support an environment where colleagues feel respected and able to contribute.

A diverse workforce strengthens how we deliver services across different environments, from office cleaning and facilities management to public and commercial sites.

Positive impact and lasting change through community outreach programmes

Our colleagues are involved in the communities they work in, supporting local initiatives, volunteering and contributing to causes that are important to them. This ranges from practical support through our services to fundraising and community partnerships.

These activities reflect a consistent approach across OCS, shaped by local teams and the communities they’re part of.

Standing strong together against modern slavery

We’re committed to identifying and addressing modern slavery risks across our operations and supply chain. This includes working with third-party agents like Fair Supply to assess risk, strengthen due diligence and improve transparency in how we engage suppliers.

A cross-functional Modern Slavery Working Group supports this work across Australia and New Zealand, alongside ongoing training, supplier assessments and regular review of our practices. Our approach focuses on responsible procurement and maintaining standards that support fair and ethical working conditions.
