We have been appointed by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust to deliver a new facilities management (FM) contract. It will cover catering, cleaning, laundry and linen, waste management, and pest control services.
This new partnership will enhance services across Trust sites, creating a better experience for patients, service users, colleagues, and visitors. The contract will also unlock cost efficiencies to reinvest into frontline services.
Providing these opportunities to our service users is a valuable enhancement to the support we offer at the Trust. It represents an important step in their recovery journey, enabling them to build confidence and independence in a real-world setting while remaining within a safe and supportive environment. We warmly welcome OCS Group UK Ltd as our new service provider and look forward to working together to continue delivering high-quality services.

Chief Operating Officer at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust

The contract will introduce modernised on-site restaurants at Bethlem Royal Hospital and Maudsley Hospital. Featuring refreshed designs, enhanced menu quality, and greater variety to cater to a wide range of dietary needs and preferences. Additionally, 24/7 hot and cold vending options will offer improved access to food and drinks for night staff and visitors.
As part of a people-first approach, the contract provides supported employment and training opportunities for service users. This initiative has been developed in collaboration with clinical and operational teams. It uses patient and service user feedback to ensure real-world relevance and impact.
We will provide colleagues currently delivering these services with the incumbent provider the opportunity to transfer to the business under TUPE. Colleagues will have access to OCS’s full range of wellbeing initiatives, skills development pathways, and apprenticeship opportunities across the organisation. This continuity will facilitate a smooth and respectful transition, helping to maintain familiar, trusted support for patients and service users. OCS looks forward to welcoming these colleagues and building on the strengths they already bring.
Mobilisation of the new services is now underway, supported by a dedicated working group bringing together key stakeholders from across the Trust and OCS. The contract is set to go live on Monday, 1 December.
We’re proud and excited to begin this new partnership with the Trust, delivering essential services that support patient care, colleague wellbeing and help create welcoming environments. This contract reflects a shared commitment to quality, inclusion and positive outcomes. We are looking to make new investment in facilities and improved catering with greater choice and quality. We are also looking at opportunities that aid recovery and personal development for those served by the Trust, while upholding high standards across every service we provide.
