Australia & New Zealand ESG Report
The OCS Australia and New Zealand report highlights our commitment to sustainability – reducing emissions, improving governance, and progressing toward our 2040 net zero goal while supporting our people, customers, and communities.
A Message from our Managing Director
For 125 years, OCS has supported the places people rely on every day. Across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, ESG is part of how we operate, make decisions and support our customers. This report presents the progress we’ve made, the challenges we’re working through, and the opportunities ahead.
Independent Perspective on Progress
“Progress isn’t always linear, but genuine progress is built through consistent action, year after year.”
– Mike Burrell, Chief Executive, Sustainable Business Council
Our ESG approach is built on practical action, clear accountability and a commitment to continuous improvement across our operations.
125 Years Supporting People and Places
In 2025, OCS Group marked 125 years in business. From a single window-cleaning round in London to a global facilities services business operating across 13 countries, our focus remains unchanged: supporting the places people rely on every day.
Over that time, our services have evolved alongside customer needs. What began as cleaning services has expanded to include facilities management, engineering, maintenance, waste management, aviation support and specialist technical services delivered across some of the world’s most complex operating environments.
Growing Across Australia and New Zealand
The OCS story in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand has been shaped through growth, investment and the coming together of businesses with strong local roots. OCS entered Australia in 1998 through the acquisition of Price Cleaning, while the New Zealand business was established through investments in United Cleaning Services (UCS) in 1993 and Quality Service Enterprises (QSE) in 1994.
Today, OCS Australia and New Zealand includes OCS, Midcity and 1M, combining facilities services, insurance repairs, construction, HVAC and specialist engineering capability under one group.
Supporting Essential Services Every Day
Across Australia and New Zealand, more than 4,300 colleagues support over 1,700 customers across 4,800 sites. From hospitals and airports to schools, manufacturing facilities, government buildings and commercial environments, our teams help keep essential services operating safely and efficiently.
Our work often takes place behind the scenes, but its impact is visible in the safe, clean and well-managed environments our customers depend on every day.
Doing Business the Right Way
At OCS Australia and New Zealand, ESG is not a standalone programme. It is part of how we deliver services, manage risk and support customers across thousands of sites every day.
From hospitals and airports to schools, manufacturing facilities and public spaces, the way we operate carries environmental, social and governance responsibilities. That includes reducing environmental impact, supporting safe and inclusive workplaces, maintaining ethical supply chains and applying strong governance standards across our operations.
Our approach is guided by the OCS Group ESG Strategy and supported by internationally recognised certifications, including Toitū Net Carbon Zero, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 27001.
These frameworks help ensure our reporting, decision-making and service delivery remain consistent, transparent and accountable as our business continues to evolve.
