Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Across Australia, our colleagues bring a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives to their work. This diversity strengthens our teams and the customers and communities we support.

Our DE&I starting point is that everybody counts

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) sit alongside our TRUE Values, and shape how we work. We’re a global facilities services business that employs over 130,000 individuals, who speak multiple languages and represent many cultures, religions and beliefs. An inclusive, non-discriminatory approach is a basic expectation of how we operate as a business.

Through our Great Place to Work™ certification, colleagues have reinforced that OCS is a physically safe place to work, where people are treated fairly and with respect, regardless of who they are.

We have a responsibility to acknowledge and respect, the different perspectives our colleagues bring to their work, and to create an environment where those differences are valued. Our approach to DE&I is practical and grounded. It’s about treating people fairly, listening to different viewpoints, and continuing to improve how we support colleagues across the business.

DE&I Commitments

Across Australia, our leaders and teams are responsible for supporting our DE&I commitments in ways that reflect local communities and workplaces.

  • Diversity

Acknowledging and valuing the differences that each individual brings, including differences in ethnicity, gender, age, origin, sexual orientation, education, religion, experience and perspective.

  • Equity

We create opportunities and pathways for all colleagues to access the same advantages. We ensure fairness in treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all people while striving to identify and eliminate any barriers or obstacles that might hinder an individual’s progress.

  • Inclusion

Fostering a work environment where all individuals are treated fairly and respectfully, have equal access to opportunities and resources, and can contribute fully to the organisation’s success. Creating a workplace where differences are embraced and everyone is included.

Putting equity into action

In Australia, we work with local organisations to support more inclusive pathways into employment, particularly in communities where access to work has not always been equal.

In Western Australia, this includes our partnership with the Waalitj Foundation, an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people into education, training and long-term employment. Through this partnership, OCS has welcomed new Indigenous colleagues into our Kalgoorlie operations, supported by wraparound assistance that helps people feel safe, prepared and supported at work.

We also meet our obligations under the Workplace Gender Equality Agency reporting framework. For the 2024–2025 reporting period, OCS has complied with the requirements of the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012, reflecting our commitment to transparency and accountability in how we approach gender equality in the workplace.

This work goes beyond filling roles. It reflects our commitment to creating culturally safe workplaces, working alongside community partners, and supporting colleagues to succeed once they’re in the job. By building local relationships and taking a practical approach to inclusion, we aim to make equity part of how we recruit, onboard, and support people across our Australian business.
