Across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, thousands of moments happen every day that never make the spotlight.
A cleaner who notices what others miss. A colleague who steps in without being asked. A team that pulls together when the pressure is on.
The OCS TRUE Stars Awards recognise those moments and the people behind them. Each year, colleagues across OCS are nominated for living our TRUE values of Trust, Respect, Unity and Empowerment through their mahi.
Our 2025 winners reflect the standard our customers rely on, and our colleagues see in each other every day.
“These awards recognise the way our colleagues show up when it counts – taking ownership, supporting others, and delivering consistently for our customers,” said Gareth Marriott, OCS Australia and New Zealand Managing Director.
2025 OCS Australia & New Zealand TRUE Star of the Year and 2025 OCS Annual Empowerment TRUE Star: Ninh Hoang, Christchurch Airport
On a busy Saturday, Ninh Hoang was faced with a critical situation.
A traveller had fallen on a busy escalator at Christchurch Airport. Without hesitation, Ninh stepped in. He stopped the escalator, supported the injured woman, and stayed with her and her companion until help arrived.
His quick actions reduced the risk of further harm and ensured the situation was handled with care and control.
This is Empowerment in practice, recognising the moment, taking responsibility, and acting decisively to support others.
2025 OCS Annual Trust TRUE Star: Pravesh Adhikari, AstraZeneca, Sydney
Trust is built in the small details, repeated every day.
At AstraZeneca in Sydney, Pravesh Adhikari has built that trust through consistency, reliability, and pride in his work. His attention to detail is evident in every space he maintains, creating environments that are clean, safe and ready for use.
He is known for always having a smile on his face, initiative, reliability, and a willingness to go ‘above and beyond’, often addressing issues before they become problems.
His steady, dependable approach underpins the experience our customers expect.
2025 OCS Annual Respect TRUE Star: Nita Jing, Wellington
Respect is often seen in how we respond to people during difficult moments.
Working at Margaret Stewart House in Wellington, Nita Jing supports specialist accommodation for people affected by cancer. It’s an environment that requires extra care, awareness, and professionalism.
Nita has adapted quickly to the unique requirements of this special site. More than that, she has built strong connections with guests, many of whom are going through the most challenging times of their lives.
Her approach reflects a simple but important principle: treating every person with dignity, understanding, and care.
2025 OCS Annual Unity TRUE Star: Biosecurity Team, Dnata Melbourne
Unity is tested when the outcome matters most.
At Dnata Melbourne, the Biosecurity Team faced a tough audit known for its difficult pass-rate. The response was collective.
Colleagues worked extended hours, supported each other across shifts, and stayed closely connected through constant communication. Cleaning procedures were followed closely, documentation was completed to the letter, and every detail was checked – and rechecked!
That shared effort led to a successful audit result and a strong endorsement from the customer.
These four stories reflect different roles, very different environments, and different challenges. What connects them is a shared standard: colleagues who take ownership, support those around them, and deliver for our customers.
As Gareth notes, “What stands out is not just what was achieved, but how it was done. These are examples of our TRUE values being lived in real situations, across very different parts of our business.”
Across OCS, this is the work that keeps people safe, supports our customers, and strengthens the communities we serve.
